Creating tasks-complex quizzes
To create a new task - Complex quiz go to Learning - Learning Management - Tasks menu:

On the Tasks page click the Add button and select the Complex quiz task type from the drop-down list:

On the Task page the following fields and blocks are available for completion and configuration:

(1) - Task title – a required field;
(2) - Task description – brief information for the user about the Complex quiz, which is displayed in the task table, on the task card in the My Tasks list and the Catalog of tasks;
(3) - Select tag – optionally assign a tag to the task. You can select a tag from the existing ones in the drop-down list, search for it, or create a new one. More details: Tag Management;
(4) - Select competencies – optionally specify the competencies that the task - Complex quiz helps develop. More details: Competencies for the tasks.
Below on the page Blocks corresponding to the task configuration stages are displayed:
- Task Type - Complex quiz (5),
- Settings (6),
- Assignment (7),
- Results (8).
(9) - Cancel – return to the task table without saving changes;
(10) - Save – save the created task.
Task Type block
The Task Type block is the same for all task types. More details:Task Type block
Settings Block
Clicking the "Change Settings" button opens a menu with configuration options for the Complex quiz Task.
General Settings - Complex quiz

(1) - Number of questions - determines how many questions will be randomly presented to the user from the total list of questions when taking the test.

Number of questions – "All" – all questions from all added tests will be shown to the user during the test.

Number of questions – "Pre-set for each theme" – allows you to set a different number of questions for each topic. When this option is selected, a list of all topics (quizzes) included in the Complex quiz appears, along with fields where you must specify the number of questions. The number of questions specified cannot exceed the total number of questions available in each quiz.

- Number of questions – "Equal number from each theme" – the user will receive the same number of questions from each topic (quiz) as specified in the settings.

(2) - Attempts number - by default, the number of quiz attempts is unlimited.
When the Limited setting is selected, after the last available attempt, the system will not allow the user to retake the quiz but will offer to send a request to the Administrator for an additional attempt (more details: Attempts to Quiz).
If the "Deny the request for an additional test attempt" checkbox is selected in the settings, the user will not be able to send a request to the Administrator for an additional attempt.
(3) - Quiz passing time – allows you to restrict the quiz duration in minutes. Once the time expires, the quiz will be automatically completed, and the user will receive the points they earned (more details: Quiz. Mode with a time limit).
(4) - Training mode – allows the user to see during the quiz whether the selected answers are correct or not (more details: Quiz. Training mode).
(5) - Allow opening other pages - allows users to open other portal pages during the quiz.
General Settings - Themes

(1) - Follow the themes order in structure of complex quiz - during the quiz attempt, all questions from the included quizzes will be presented in the order specified when the complex quiz structure was created: first all questions from the first quiz, then from the second, and so on. The order of quizzes can be changed in the complex quiz structure settings.
(2) - Show list of topics before passing the quiz – when the complex quiz starts, users will see the list of its topics.
(3) - The quiz is passed successfully if all themes are passed successfully – the overall quiz result is determined based on the results of each quiz included in the complex quiz.
That is, all quiz results depend on passing thresholds set for each quiz separately. If all quizzes scored a percentage higher than the percentage specified in the settings, the overall score for the complex quiz will be successful and the passage status will be " Completed". If at least one quiz result from the composition will be unsatisfactory, then the total result for the Complex quiz will not be successful and, accordingly, the status of "Failed".
(4) - Completion threshold for themes (%) - for each quiz topic, you can set a passing threshold. By default, the passing threshold for all quizzes is 0%, but you can set a value from 0 to 100%. The overall quiz result is determined depending on the Passing Threshold for the entire Complex quiz. In the Complex quiz Report, answer logs are saved for each individual quiz.
General Settings - Question

(1) - Mix variants of answer - when enabled, the answer options for a question are presented to the user in a random order;
(2) - Follow the sequence of questions - questions are presented to the user in the order specified when creating the quiz (more details: Setting the order of questions in quizzes);
(3) - Skip questions - when enabled, the user can skip the current question and answer it after all other questions;
(4) - Show user whether the correct answer to questions is given - after submitting an answer, the user sees a notification indicating whether their answer is correct or incorrect, but they can no longer change it;
(5) - Skip to the next question manually - this setting is available when "Show user whether the correct answer to questions is given" (4) option is selected - to move to the next quiz question, the user should click the Next Question button.
This option should be enabled if the standard confirmation message for correct/incorrect answers has been changed for quiz questions (more details: Change the text confirmation of the answers in qiuzzes).
Other General Settings

(1) - Allow Commenting - allows the user to leave comments on the task. When this setting is enabled, users can provide feedback about taking the quiz or ask questions. For more details on adding a comment text during quiz completion by the user, see: Comments in tasks;
(2) - Custom successful and unsuccessful completion task messages - allows you to create a custom message in the editor for successful or unsuccessful task completion, and also add an image or link to it;
(3) - Reminders - enables additional reminders about missed or incomplete tasks (more details: Tasks Reminder).
Deadline

Task deadline - a setting that limits task completion by time (more details Task deadline). By default, Unlimited Completion Time is set.
Results

(1) - The result of task completion is - determines which attempt is used to calculate the final result: the best attempt or the last attempt:
- the result of the last attempt - the overall result depends on the last quiz attempt;
- the best result among all attempts - the overall result is determined by the best result achieved across all attempts.
(2) - Completion threshold – defines the percentage of correct answers required for the quiz to be considered successfully completed.
This setting is available only if the General - Themes - "The quiz is passed successfully if all themes are passed successfully" option is disabled.
(3) - Transform result on scale - allows to configure the conversion of the score from percentage (%) to the required scale (for example, a 5-point grading system, ECTS, etc.). By default, all tasks in the system are graded from 0 to 100%. For more details: Mark scales.
Rewards

(1) - Badge of the task - add a badge for successful task completion. A badge is an element in the form of an icon that includes a name and an image, allowing identification of the task that has been completed. (more details: Badges);
(2) - Certificate of the task - add a certificate for successful task completion. (more details: Certifications);
(3) - Points for the task - settings for the points awarded for completing the task, which are used to calculate the user rating (more details: Points for the task);
(4) - Bonuses for completing the task - specify the number of bonuses awarded for successful task completion, which can be used to purchase items in the gift shop. More details: Internal currency.
Additional parameters
In addition to the standard task fields, advanced settings can be created.
If they are created, a Additional Parameters section will appear in the Settings block, where the corresponding fields are available for completion.
For example, in the screenshot, "The cost of training" field has been added, which can be filled in if needed.

User Assignment Block
In this block, users are assigned to the task. Detailed information is provided in the article: User assigning.
Results Block
This block allows you to view and analyze user complex quizzes completion results in detail.
By clicking the Analyze button, you can quickly navigate to the reporting page for the corresponding complex quiz. For more details: Complex quizzing report.
